Position URL: apply.interfolio.com/181554
The University of Chicago’s Departments of Radiation and Cellular Oncology and the Department of Pharmacy seek full-time Clinical Pharmacist-Scientist faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The focus of the appointees should be in radiobiology, cancer immunology, investigational drugs services and clinical pharmacology as it relates to cancer and metastasis. These are envisioned as joint appointments with clinical duties in the Department of Pharmacy and a research program integrated with and supporting ongoing research programs in the Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology. If appropriate, secondary appointments will be available with other academic departments and units including The Ben May Department for Cancer Research, The Committee on Cancer Biology, and The University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Appointees will provide clinical pharmacy services with a primary focus on Investigational Drug Services (IDS) and clinical trial protocol management. The clinical work will primarily be based at the Hyde Park location and other Chicago-area network sites as needed. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Specifically, the appointees will serve as a translational bridge between clinical pharmacy practice and basic science research.
Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. These positions are benefits-eligible. The University of Chicago offers a wide range of benefits programs and resources for eligible employees, including health, retirement, and paid time off. Information about the benefit offerings can be found in the Benefits Guidebook.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must 1) Have both PharmD and PhD degrees, 2) Hold or be eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Illinois, and 3) Have completed an ASHP-accredited residency or possess equivalent clinical experience in investigational drug services.
We especially welcome applicants who have formerly served as pharmacists in an academic institution, as well as those who have experience participating in basic, translational, and/or clinical trials. In addition, we are specifically seeking candidates working on the frontiers of radiobiology and immunobiology who can envision and actualize a research program that develops novel approaches and/or applies cutting-edge technologies in new ways to solve problems related to the treatment of cancer.
To be considered, those interested must apply through The University of Chicago’s Academic Recruitment job board, which uses Interfolio to accept applications: https://apply.interfolio.com/181554 .
