Description
Faith Regional Health Services is seeking a part-time Pharmacist to join our collaborative, patient-centered care team in Norfolk, Nebraska. This role plays a vital part in ensuring safe, effective medication use while supporting patients and clinical staff across the organization. You will have the opportunity to work 10 hour days x 3/week, every 5th weekend, late shift varies until 8pm, and variable holiday hours.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- monitor, evaluate, and intervene on the management of antimicrobial therapy
- work directly with hospitalists, pulmonology, and ED staff and infectious disease specialist
- work with lab to develop and maintain an antimicrobial use, sensitivity, and outcomes database, including an antibiogram annually
- use the database to guide an antimicrobial formulary process to assure availability of antimicrobial agents relative to documented sensitivity patterns
- with support of pharmacy RPh staff, will review antimicrobial orders and culture and sensitivity reports on a regular basis
- maintain utilization data on antimicrobial data and sensitivity and make recommendations on changes in formulary in comparison to changes in sensitivity patterns
- facilitate the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee (ASC) including research, presentation and documentation
- ensure the ASC reviews all Joint Commission mandated material as required
- represent pharmacy on various committees as needed and/or assigned
- oversee and coordinate policies and procedures relating to antimicrobial stewardship
- collect and analyze data on quality improvement projects when indicated
- pursue education opportunities and/or certification programs as needed to maintain a progressive and “up to date” level of service
- help with staffing duties when workload or staffing levels require

Requirements
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current Registered Pharmacist license required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within one full month from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within one year from date of hire (only for inpatient staff and travelers-required upon hire) required.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous clinical experience preferred.
Previous healthcare experience preferred.
2-5 years of previous experience in field preferred.
SKILLS:
Language Skills – Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required.
KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to operate computers, calculators, and keyboard required.
