Registered Pharmacist

Location: IHS Belcourt. ND
Pay Rate: $60 per hour plus $1,246 weekly travel stipends (if applicable)
Schedule: Monday – Friday between 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (may include 4x10-hour shifts, as scheduled by Pharmacy Director)
Contract Length: 5 months with option to extend
Job Description:
The Registered Pharmacist will support pharmacy operations in a fast-paced IHS facility, assisting with the preparation, verification, and dispensing of approximately 1,000–1,200 prescriptions per day. This role requires strong clinical judgment, accuracy, and excellent patient communication skills.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited program
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. state or territory
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum working knowledge of pharmacy systems (EHR, RPMS, ScriptPro preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of prescriptions prior to dispensing
- Counsel patients on safe and effective medication use
- Respond to patient inquiries in person and via phone
- Complete required documentation in accordance with policies
- Maintain accurate records for controlled substances
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, TJC, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to maintain workflow efficiency
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and meetings
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding any issues or concerns
- Provide culturally sensitive, patient-centered care in a high-volume setting
