- Overnight Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist
Description
The Department of Pharmacy, consistent with the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine, places a priority on teaching, research and patient care. At the Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH), the department is responsible for providing pharmacy services for a diverse population of acute care patients as well as patients within the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center and affiliated clinics.
This position serves in the Pediatric Pharmacy Division which provides comprehensive pharmacy services to all pediatric patients at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Rubenstein Clinic. Applicants are preferred to have completed, or be in the process of completing, an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency program or have equivalent experience. This Clinical Pharmacist I is responsible for working collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to promote the safe and effective use of medications during the medication order review and verification process as well as addressing clinical pharmacy questions and concerns and completing therapeutic drug monitoring for high risk medications. Additional responsibilities for the position include: medication management, emergency code response, care coordination, drug information response, and education to students, residents, pharmacists, other health care practitioners and patients and family members. There is not typically a routine rounding component to this position.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm. D. or BS degree
- Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience is desired
- Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland required
- Hospital and departmental education requirements completed within 90 days of hire
- ACLS and/or PALS certification is desired
- Previous clinical health-system experience is desired
