Connecting. Growing together.The Pharmacy Floor Technician picks, labels, scans and otherwise prepares the finished prescription for final verification by a pharmacist.
This position operates in a long-term care pharmacy . This role may use standard office and/or pharmacy equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, rolling carts, fax machines and etc. A large portion of work shall be performed in the long-term care facility where the noise may be loud.

Hours: Monday - Friday - 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM; Rotating weekends - 10:00 am - 6:30 PM
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Fills daily drug orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Assists in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure
- Assist in prepacking frequently ordered medications, label and store, as needed during low volume times
- Packages materials and products manually
- Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (prepack racks)
- Applies labels to blistercards or artromick boxes then scans product for accuracy check
- Alerts pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly
- Maintains designated workstation areas and replenishes all stock supplies needed
- Responsible to ensure all crushed/dropped medication(s) are properly segregated for destruction or disposal as RCRA hazardous waste or non-RCRA waste in accordance with applicable USEPA and State waste regulations
- Responsble to ensure all P-waste containers/packaging are disposed of in the RCRA Hazardous waste bin in accordance with applicable USEPA and State waste regulations
- Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA
- Overtime, holidays and weekends may be required and/or expected
- Complies with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Registered Pharmacy Technician in Illinois or registration should be in the process
- Ability to stand for a full shift with intermittent breaks
Preferred Qualifications:
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
- Complete RCRA training regarding handling and disposing of hazardous waste within 180 days of hire and annually thereafter. Training is assigned by Human Resources and will be completed on the Healthicity website.
- 1+ years of Long Term Care or Retail pharmacy experience but not necessary
Physical Demand:

- May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, walk, crawl intermittently
- May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
- May lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 - $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
